When you type that into Google, you may notice something unexpected. Yes, that’s a brewery. We are not affiliated with the brewery in any way, just sharing a wall. Elizabeth Rogers Counseling has its own entrance, bathroom, and complete side of the building.

Q. Why next to a brewery?

A. The short answer is it was convenient for my commute (I live in the area), had everything I required, and was within my price range.

Q. What about clients who are in recovery?

A. Safety planning, relapse prevention, and the use of positive coping skills has always been part of my practice and the the work I do with clients. Having these ongoing conversations is important regardless of where I am housed. That said, I recognize this is a different level of activation for many people. I offer virtual sessions as well if coming into the office does not feel like the best option.

Q. I think it’s weird/ gross/ inapprorpriate.

A. That’s not a question, but it’s ok. I get that it may be uncomfortable for some clients, or even unsafe for others. That’s absolutely ok and we can have ongoing conversations about those boundaries, expectations, and impact on treatment. And you may also decide my practice is not a fit for you. That’s ok too! I have no problem giving referrals to other providers who might work better.
